GRAFFITI ART & MURAL PROJECTS
Murals and graffiti workshops for schools, communities, businesses and public spaces.

POWERED BY HIP HOP
GRAFFITI MURALS, WORKSHOPS & COMMUNITY ART IN ST HELENS
PROFESSIONAL MURAL COMMISSIONS AND GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS, COUNCILS, COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS, BUSINESSES AND EVENTS.
Powered by Hip Hop has been using Hip Hop culture to bring people together since 2004. We work with experienced graffiti artists including Kingsyze and Panter Bros to create school murals, community murals, public artwork and graffiti workshops across Merseyside and the North West.
Projects range from one-off workshops to larger mural commissions involving design, planning, consultation and community participation where appropriate. Whether you want to transform a wall, celebrate local stories or give people the chance to learn graffiti art, we shape the project around the space, the people who use it and what you want it to achieve.
OUR GRAFFITI SERVICES
GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS, SCHOOL MURALS & COMMUNITY MURALS
BOOK A ONE-OFF GRAFFITI WORKSHOP, COMMISSION A PROFESSIONAL MURAL OR COMBINE BOTH IN A LARGER PROJECT.
We deliver graffiti workshops and artist-led mural projects for schools, councils, businesses, youth organisations, community groups and events.
Some organisations want an interactive session where participants can learn graffiti and street art techniques. Others want a professionally designed mural to transform a wall, building or shared space. Many projects bring both together.
GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS
🪴Participants can explore lettering, character design, colour and spray-paint techniques before creating artwork on practice boards, canvases, pebbles, planters or shared display pieces.
SCHOOL & COMMUNITY MURALS
🛝Our artists design and paint murals for schools, youth centres, community buildings, businesses and public spaces. Projects can celebrate local stories, improve overlooked areas or create a stronger sense of pride in a place.
WORKSHOPS LINKED TO A MURAL
♻️ Children, young people, staff or local residents can share ideas, develop themes and contribute to the design process, while our artists lead the final design and painting.
Projects can take place indoors or outdoors and are planned around the venue, participants, timescale and what you want the artwork or workshop to achieve.

WHY CHOOSE POWERED BY HIP HOP?

MORE THAN ART MURALS & WORKSHOPS
We do more than paint a wall or deliver a graffiti art workshop and then leave. We involve people throughout the project, helping them develop ideas, learn new skills and feel connected to the finished artwork.
INVOLVING PEOPLE FROM THE START
We involve schools, young people, residents and local organisations in the ideas, stories and themes behind each project. This can include consultation, design sessions and opportunities to help shape the finished mural or workshop.
LEARNING BY TAKING PART
Our graffiti workshops give people the chance to learn new skills, share ideas and contribute to artwork they can feel proud of. Where suitable, participants can also help paint parts of a larger mural alongside our artists.
See how our intergenerational graffiti workshop brought children, parents, grandparents and Chatty Café members together.
LOOKING AFTER OUR MURALS
We want our murals to last. Where appropriate, we work with councils, schools, property owners, police and community organisations to create practical anti-vandalism and maintenance plans.
This can include identifying local custodians, recording the paints and colours used, agreeing how damage will be reported and planning future touch-ups where these form part of the project.
LOCAL AND RESPONSIBLE
We use local suppliers where possible and reuse or recycle suitable materials. We also encourage the people connected to each mural to take pride in it and help look after it once the project is complete.
OUR TRACK RECORD
NATIONAL AWARD-WINNING HIP HOP COMMUNITY WORK SINCE 2004
Powered by Hip Hop, formerly UC Crew, has worked with children, young people and communities for more than 20 years.
Our experience includes graffiti workshops, school and community murals, artwork created with the Daniel Fox Foundation, and reverse-vandalism projects designed to improve shared public spaces.
We have delivered projects in St Helens, across Merseyside and the North West, as well as in other parts of the UK. Our work has taken place in schools, youth settings, community venues, parks and outdoor public spaces.
Projects range from one-off graffiti workshops to larger murals involving consultation, design development, planning, community participation and long-term care for the finished artwork.
This experience means we understand both sides of the work: creating high-quality graffiti art and making sure each project is properly planned, connected to the place and valued by the people who use it.

Art with a Purpose:
MURALS & WORKSHOPS THAT GIVE BACK
We reinvest income from murals, graffiti workshops and commissioned projects into youth and community work.
This helps create more opportunities for local young people, support wellbeing and provide positive alternatives to anti-social behaviour.
When you book with us, your project also helps support wider work in the community.
