BBoy Kazi: Breaking with Passion and Purpose
Fernando Pastor, better known as BBoy Kazi, goes down in UK Break Dance history in St Helens, he has been part of the Breaking scene for 18 years, starting his journey in 2007.
He got into Breaking through the influence of his friends and cousins, but has been influenced by Breaking and Hip Hop from his living in America, Liverpool and Huddersfield.
His path led him to UC Crew in St Helens, which he joined through their Carmel College Break Dance Club while attending Liverpool Training Session, the home of Hardnox Crew and Liverpool’s Finest.

In the 2000s Era of UK Break Dance History
When BBoy Kazi first stepped into the scene, Breaking was in its 2000s prime. Sessions were raw and full of energy, with knowledge being passed down by real OGs. He was inspired by Korean bboys, known for their precision, speed, and creativity, and quickly built his own style rooted in musicality and originality.

Competing & Expanding His Craft
Kazi regularly competed across the North West of England, attending battles in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Wakefield, and Bradford. But his passion for dance didn’t stop at Breaking—he also explored Popping, Locking, and Hip Hop, competing in multiple styles.
Beyond dance, Kazi developed a deep love for Graffiti Art, which soon became another major part of his life. He started getting paid to create murals, teach workshops, and contribute to Zap Graffiti in Liverpool. His artistic talents complemented his dance skills, making him a true all-rounder in the Hip Hop scene.

Challenges and Future Goals
Despite his dedication, Kazi had to balance education and exams, limiting his ability to travel for battles and to continue breaking.
However, in 2025, he’s making up for lost time, setting his sights on travelling through Europe and East Asia, while also focusing on gym fitness to stay healthy and continue to pass on his knowledge whenever the opportunity arises.

Advice for the Next Generation
For those thinking about getting into Breaking, Kazi keeps says:
👉 “Don’t do it just to look cool. Start Breaking because you’re truly passionate about it.”
